Over the past 22 years, Klitschko Foundation has reached three million Ukrainians through its activities. This was announced by Wladimir Klitschko on the eve of the anniversary of the charity foundation he and his brother Vitali established in 2003.

“22 years ago, my brother and I founded a charitable foundation with the aim of helping young people fight for their dreams. After all, the success of our youth is the success of Ukraine as a whole,” says Wladimir Klitschko. “Our graduates are now studying at top universities in Ukraine and abroad, launching their own initiatives, and working in leading companies that strengthen our country.”

According to him, the organisation has undergone significant transformation and growth over this time. In its early years, the foundation focused on sports – equipping schools with modern facilities, building sports grounds, and organising charity events for young athletes. In addition, Klitschko Foundation actively ran educational projects, giving teenagers the skills needed for a successful career start.

“Over these 22 years, Klitschko Foundation has implemented 192 projects,” says the foundation’s CEO, Angelina Osadcha. “Some projects have transformed over 10–15 years to meet changing needs, or have gained new elements. For example, almost all of our projects include a mental health component now – since 2022, we have involved psychologists in nearly all our programs. Moreover, given the current context in which young people live, we have developed full-scale mental health projects such as Rozkvytai (‘Flourish’) and Mental Guard.”

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Klitschko Foundation has not paused its work for a single day. Facing wartime challenges, the organisation launched a new humanitarian direction. Thanks to international partners, in just three and a half years the foundation has delivered over 500 tonnes of humanitarian aid worth almost €10 million.

This includes medicines, medical supplies, hygiene products for civilians and soldiers, baby food, groceries, as well as medical equipment – such as ultrasound machines, MRI scanners, and more – for Ukrainian hospitals, including perinatal centers, maternity wards, and children’s hospitals.

“We are grateful to our partners – mainly large international organisations – for their commitment to the future of Ukrainian children,” notes Angelina Osadcha. “We also actively fundraise at international events – for example, at the WBC Congress and various charity events in Europe. We see that many international businesses and civil society are ready to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.”

Today, Klitschko Foundation is expanding the number of projects to reach as many participants as possible. In the near future, the foundation also plans to publish a social study on the resilience and motivation of Ukrainian youth.
