Partnering for resilience: Wladimir Klitschko meets with Mike Bloomberg at the Bloomberg CityLab conference

Wladimir Klitschko, founder of Klitschko Foundation, met with Mike Bloomberg, chairman of Bloomberg Philanthropies and former mayor of New York City, at the Bloomberg CityLab 2024 conference in Mexico City. During the meeting, they discussed how to help Ukraine and its cities in the face of the challenges of war and future recovery.
‘We talked about financing projects that help Ukrainian cities to be resilient in times of difficult challenges and develop. In particular, Bloomberg Philanthropies supports the introduction of digital technologies in urban governance and mental health projects. And Kyiv has already successfully cooperated with the foundation in these areas. I am grateful to those who support Ukraine and help our country and our cities!' said Wladimir Klitschko.
The parties also discussed the initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies to hold a conference in Kyiv after the war to attract potential investors and help rebuild Ukraine and restore its economy.
The Bloomberg CityLab conference is an annual global forum that takes place in various cities around the world. It brings together urban development leaders, government officials, academics, entrepreneurs and activists to discuss innovative solutions to important urban problems. This year's forum focused on urban resilience in the context of global challenges, including the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
Klitschko Foundation, founded by Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko 21 years ago, aims to help talented children and young people fight for their dreams. Over this time, the Foundation, with the support of international partners, has invested over UAH 407 million in sports, education, environmental and other projects. The Foundation has helped 2.5 million young Ukrainians fight for their dreams.
