Klitschko Foundation-2024: challenges and results that impress

19 December 2024 · 4 minutes reading

The equator has been crossed, and our audience fills half of the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex. Klitschko Foundation team, which carried out 15 projects for more than 30 thousand participants over the year, shares what they have managed to accomplish.

This year we have become closer to our shared dream - to live and work in a strong, free country, to create change, to give opportunities to those who want them. Through Klitschko Foundation projects, young people learn that they can achieve any goals if they have a clear plan, a team, and are able to adapt quickly to change and be resilient.

The Klitschko Foundation has a 21-year history, a role model of success in the world-famous Klitschko brothers and a team of 13 people who have been working for 366 days this year to help young Ukrainians achieve their dreams.

Let's start with education.

In 2024, we implemented 8 educational projects, each of which helps the younger generation in different ways.

FALLING WALLS LAB KYIV allowed two Ukrainians to present their inventions at the world exhibition of young innovators. The Democracy Hub in Switzerland introduced 16 young people to democracy and its institutions in Switzerland, and the Debate Camp taught them how to express their opinions publicly and not be afraid to speak up. At the School of Resilience, 100 students found opportunities for their development right here in Ukraine.

As many people as there are opinions, and that's okay: this is the main message of the moderated dialogues within the Aspen Teens project: Fight for UA Dream, where youth learn to respect the opinions of others and provide feedback correctly. The Interexchange Academy participants were able to integrate into the European space, understand other cultures, and expand their horizons.

Sport disciplines us and helps us to be resilient. This year, we have implemented the Play for Equality project twice, training 230 teachers to implement gender equality in sports and providing them with equipment for their schools.

We were able to open the only boxing ground in Ukraine with 6 indoor mini-rings in Brovary as part of the Start to Success project. And in the Shevchenkove village, a modern sports ground has been built where children can practice 8 sports.

As part of the Safe Learning project, we have conducted trainings for school psychologists, teachers, students, and parents.

We will help as much as needed. That means everything from MRI equipment to medicines and medical supplies. And we provided all of this for 80 organisations over the course of the year, to the total value of over UAH 80 million.

Like all Ukrainians, we worked in the face of alarms, attacks and power cuts. However, our overwhelming confidence in victory and our mission, multiplied by a clear action plan, allowed us to achieve everything and more.

We thank our partners: Bloomberg Philanthropies, DFB-Stiftung, UEFA Foundation for children, Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, Hirschmann Stiftung, WeAreAllUkrainians, Klitschko Ventures, Hanseatic Help, Siemens Germany, Siemens Ukraine, Aspen Institute Kyiv, KSE Foundation, Ein Herz für Kinder and Prospero World Charity.

We thank more than 30 thousand participants who believe in their goal and strive to develop our country - from Kyiv to smaller communities.

We thank our co-founders who believe that the future of Ukraine is its youth.

We thank our defenders, thanks to whom we can implement all our projects and plan for the next year, setting even more ambitious goals. Here, at home, in Ukraine.

The struggle continues. But every year, every month, every day, we are getting closer to our shared dream.

Glory to Ukraine!
