FOOTBALL FOR EVERYONE
Project for physical education teachers and coaches to combat homophobia, transphobia and discrimination through sport and football in particular.
A study by the Scottish Equality Network "Out for Sport» shows that more than 79% respondents believe that there is a problem of homophobia in sports, while 62% have witnessed or experienced homophobia or transphobia in sport. Amongst trans respondents the numbers of those having experienced or witnessed homophobia or transphobia in sport rose to 80%. Discrimination against people on the basis of their gender is still a pressing problem in society.
Project mission
To decrease the level of discrimination in sport in terms of gender equality and sexual orientatio and to provide teachers and coaches with the tools that will help to combat discrimination.
Who can participate?
Physical education teachers and coaches.
Candidates must:
- be a coach of a football team or a physical education teacher at school;
- desire to gain knowledge and share their own perspective;
- submit the comprehensive application form;
- be ready to implement changes in the local community, increase knowledge and introduce new teaching methods at school or a team;
- have clear motivation;
- respond to project requirements and program.
While selecting the participants, we consider gender and territorial balance. A mandatory condition for participation is to conduct a local project for at least 15 students. During its implementation, project graduates gain knowledge and skills in practice. In this way, residents of the regions can afford to join non-formal education.
Program
The program consists of 7 online sessions on psychology, gender equality, ways of combating homophobia, transfobia and discrimination.
After the project, participants have to conduct their sessions with the students or teams and share skills and knowledge, gained during the project.

Online via the Zoom application.
Timeline
January 29 - February 10 - submission of applications.
February 15 - 24 - project.
February 24 - March 12 - implementation of local projects.

The project is implemented within the month of Football v Homophobia Month of Action, which is initiated by the organizations Fare Network and Football v Homophobia
Football v Homophobia is an international initiative that exists to combat discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation at all levels of football.
Fare Network is an organization consisting of a network of NGOs, sports clubs and fan groups aimed at combating all forms of discrimination at all levels of sport. Opposing racism, homophobia, far-right nationalism and discrimination against people with disabilities.
