Investment in the victory: presentation of the results of the Klitschko Foundation`s project with the support of the people of Japan
On November 23, 2017 Wladimir Klitschko and the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi took part in the opening ceremony for the handball hall in Brovary High College of Physical Culture.
The reconstruction of the hall was a part of the grant agreement between the charitable organization the Klitschko Foundation and the KUSANONE Assistance Programme of the Government of Japan. "Sport is the universal language for all the nations, it unites people. It is remarkable that we have a common vision of future, and Japan takes a step toward Ukraine. We are grateful to the people of Japan for supporting the strategic direction for our country. "- said Wladimir Klitschko, the founder of the Klitschko Foundation.

The project was intended to refurbish the handball hall and the adjoining rooms. It provided the installation of new windows, doors, lighting and heating systems and the repair of the floor. The project budget was 2,860,205 UAH. 1,941,802 UAH of which were provided by the Japanese government, the rest of the cost was covered by the charitable organization the Klitschko Foundation according to the grant agreement. After the repairs were complete, the Foundation passed the report of the independent auditor to the Embassy of Japan.
"It was the first time in 15 years of activity in Ukraine that the Foundation received a grant from a foreign government. For us, it is a great achievement, because it speaks loudly about our high standards of performance and trust. We continue to cooperate with international organizations to fight together for the dreams of Ukrainian future champions," – notes Alina Nosenko, Director of the Klitschko Foundation.

Assistance under the KUSANONE Program is aimed at supporting projects being implemented by non-profit organizations in the fields of healthcare, education, culture and sports.
"2017 is the year of Japan in Ukraine. This year is the 25th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Ukraine and Japan. Therefore, the successful completion of this project is very important for both countries. In 2020 the Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo. We hope, many Ukrainian athletes will participate"- says Shigeki Sumi, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine.
