In Kyiv «Study Visit» international project has ended!

From 9 to 13 August Klitschko Foundation and Max Sport Iron Man released training for sports and youth organizations representatives from Poland, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Greece and Georgia.

For the 3 days 20 participants from different countries discussed a topic «Sport projects for children from environments threatened by social exclusion», and also exchanged their knowledge and experience. The project has been running in English.

During the project participants talked with Ukrainian experts from a variety of sports spheres. Especially, participants discussed with the professionals these topics:

  • problems of social inequality in Ukraine and worldwide;
  • discrimination and social isolation;
  • gender equality in sports;
  • homophobia and transphobia;
  • bullying and methods of its combating;
  • diversity and inclusion;

Additionally, participants learned more about the activity of such Ukrainian organizations as Klitschko Foundation, Shakhtar Social Foundation, JuniorZ and others.

«I think that participants of the programme were active, because there were interesting discussions of the impact which football social projects have on society and how the strategy of the organization activity development is formed. Experience between different countries and organizations is important, first of all, for solving common problems, searching for new methods of dealing with social problems, an opportunity to share experience and see obvious thing under another angle. Involvement of the participants from different countries is some kind of diversification of thought, which gives an ability to collect loads of information for more detailed analysis of anything, and also develops the critical thinking. I am firmly convinced that such programmes are a great start for the emergence of new ideas and innovations», - says Nikita Philipov, Shakhtar Social Foundation project manager.

The fight against social isolation has to become the main goal of every country in the world. On the «Study Visit» project participants found out about loads of cases and practices to demonstrate how the consequences of social exclusion impact the involvement of people into sports, and their lives in general.

While visiting the Ukrainian capital, sports and youth organizations representatives visited Klitschko Museum, came to and watched the «Shakhtar-Henk» football match in NSC «Olimpiyskiy», and also had an excursion around Kyiv.

«It was a big pleasure to meet people from different countries, because they were open to talks and exchange of experience. Lectures were about really actual problems of the modern sports, especially equality, inclusion and youthal sports in general. Fight against actual problems demands exactly a volunteer out-academic education like this. Clear instructions and advice from lecturers will be a great base for sports development not only in Ukraine, but also worldwide» - tells Pawel Kawa, a participant from Poland.
