Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Leon Löwentraut plan art cooperation - benefitting children and young people through the Klitschko Foundation

Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Leon Löwentraut are getting creative together. The painter and the challenge master plan to create a piece of artwork.

Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Ibiza, June 21, 2019 – Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Leon Löwentraut announce to create a joint work of art at Löwentraut’s vernissage in Ibiza City. Wladimir Klitschko is the longest-reigning heavyweight world champion in boxing history, while internationally renowned artist Leon Löwentraut exhibits his work in galleries and museums around the world. Now the extraordinary personalities are becoming co-creators.

Success factors
As different as they may seem at first glance, they are united in their belief in themselves and their capabilities, the love for their goals, and trust in their allies. Both are also convinced that the support they received from their families and mentors from their childhood have made a major contribution to their success today. Now they want to share their knowledge and create something new from these experiences. In order to also allow others to participate, the proceeds raised from the auction go to the Klitschko Foundation.

Dealing with challenges and lifelong learning
"I love the colorful, intense and powerful works of Leon. Despite his young age, he is an experienced artist, from whom I can learn about brushwork and creativity techniques. Conversely, I want to show Leon why I love challenges and how one can turn problems into challenges," says Wladimir Klitschko. "I'm curious how challenging the creation of our artwork will be – for Leon and for me."

But for the Challenge Master and innovator Wladimir Klitschko, another aspect also is important: "Life-long learning is one of my biggest drivers. I am looking forward to what I can learn from Leon. I am looking forward to getting to know his world and creating a real "Löwentraut-Klitschko" with him. I am really looking forward to the process of creation -  and of course the result.

The creative process
The artist Leon Löwentraut is also looking forward to the joint project: "When Wladimir proposed to work together, my gut feeling instantly was "yes". In conversations, I realized that we are not dissimilar, we only choose different forms of artistic expression," says the painter. "Taking Wladimir into my world is something special for me: our project is not just about my interpretation of our theme, but about finding a common artistic path for our work - and maybe one or the other challenge needs to be met during the process.

“Giving back": More than just charity
The result of the creative process will be up for auctioning for the benefit of the Klitschko Foundation. Founded by Wladimir Klitschko and his brother Vitali in 2003, the organization is dedicated to multinationally promoting the opportunities of children and youth. So far, more than 1.2 million young people have received support and opportunities through the foundation. The goal was and is the motive of "giving back". Wladimir Klitschko is not only concerned with charitable donations, but above all with the fact that as many people as possible should profit from his philosophy "Challenge Management" and the derived F.A.C.E. method, developed with his team at Klitschko Ventures. The method F.A.C.E. the Challenge supports the development of people’s potential and implementation energy.
